Workplace Inspections and Incident Investigations Online Training
The new Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act came into effect in Alberta June 1, 2018. Under the new law, joint health and safety committees (JHSCs) are mandatory. Key responsibilities of the JHSCs will include participating in incident investigations and performing workplace inspections. The goal of this eLearning course is to provide participants with the knowledge and tools required to conduct effective incident investigations and workplace inspections in their role as a JHSC member.
This course is intended for new members of JHSCs who are required to participate in incident investigations and conduct workplace inspections, in any industry in Alberta. It is also intended for employers who must set up JHSCs under the new law. There are no prerequisites for this course as it will be a companion to the existing Danatec course Joint Health & Safety Committees and Representatives but will also be a standalone training course.
The course content includes these modules:
1. Workplace Inspections
2. Incident Investigations
There is a final exam for this course, and 80% is required to pass.
